What type of wood do you use?
Our cases are 100% wood and unlike other cases which are veneers laminated to plastic, fake wood, or bamboo, our wood is sourced locally and sustainably. Most of our wood comes from our friend Jason Boone at Urban Tree. Jason works with Tree Pittsburgh to reclaim sick and damaged street trees and local trees. Jason and his team of arborists safely fells, and mills trees which would otherwise end up as mulch.
Will my case look different than the photo?
Wood grain varies and the character of the cases we ship will is only represented by the samples we have used in our photos. With that being said, we take pride in only selecting the wood with the most interesting grain and beautiful features. For a bigger selection of images of our wood take a look at our Instagram account. You can be sure that your case will be unique, one of a kind, and sure to turn heads and receive compliments.
How durable are the cases?
Our cases are 100% wood, and if treated with care will prove to be durable. Dropping your case on hard surfaces will protect the phone, however damage to the case might be possible. If you drop your phone and want to inquire about a replacement case please let us know. Above all, our cases are functional, high end design for your phone and are not meant to compete with the protection offered by bulky rubber and plastic cases. We offer a FREE repair service for damaged cases depending on the amount of damage. If you love your case and want a FREE repair just send us an email!
What is your Replacement Policy?
We stand behind our work. Our cases are meticulously crafted and individually tested. If there are any defects in workmanship we will replace your product free of charge. If your case is damaged from abuse, exposure to moisture, extreme temperatures, improper installation, or impacts (such as dropping your phone), we will provide a one time replacement of your damaged case with a brand new case (similar style and wood species) at a 50% discount. To be eligible the original case must be shipped back to us in the original packaging or other secure shipping method and with TRACKING to us at:

Does the hole obscure the camera and flash?
Our new case design features an oval shaped hole that does not interfere with the camera or flash functions of your phone.
Where do you ship?
We ship internationally using First Class International Mail and UPS where necessary.
How long will it take for my order to arrive?
All Kerf Cases are custom made to order, and ship from Pittsburgh, PA. We offer expedited shipping services but all standard orders are mailed within 1 week of placing your order. Custom cases and will arrive in 1-2 weeks. As all KERF cases are hand finished we make sure to take our time getting you the best quality case available for your phone. As we continue to develop our inventory, certain cases will ship in less than a week.
Where is my order?
All KERF Case orders include delivery tracking. Be sure to check your shipping confirmation email for the appropriate tracking link. If you didn't receive it within 4-5 days from the day which you received your tracking email please let us know.
