Warranty
We stand behind our work. Our wooden phone cases, wallets and other products are meticulously crafted and individually tested. Products made from wood may crack after days or weeks of regular use; invisible defects in the wood grain may manifest into cracks from small stresses or environmental changes. Wood products may wear slightly over long periods of time, and this wear may affect the color, texture, or fit of the product.
We make gorgeous handmade wood cases that are both stylish and protective. Our cases protect phones from drop damage very well. That being said, wood can crack from repeated impacts, and customers used to the durability of a plastic case may be disappointed if their case cracks after several drops.
We want all of our customers to be aware that owning a wood phone case may involve cracks and faults, and we offer our lifetime warranty as a way to stand by our products. For maximum durability, we recommend our Plywood and Kerf Select series.
We offer a FREE repair and restoration service for damaged or worn wood phone cases, depending on the amount of wear or damage. We are experts at repairing and restoring your old cases. If you love your case and want a FREE repair just send us an email with a photo of your issue attached. Chances are your case can be fixed or restored.
For wood phone cases that are damaged beyond repair from abuse, exposure to moisture, extreme temperatures, improper installation, or impacts (such as dropping your phone), we will provide a one time replacement of your damaged case with a brand new case (similar style and wood species) at a 50% discount, or a 25% discount on any other case in our collection. Our cases are 100% wood, and if treated with care will prove to be durable. Dropping your case on hard surfaces will protect the phone, however damage to the case might be possible, but the case might not even get a scratch. It all depends on how the case is dropped. If you drop your phone and want to inquire about our repair program pleaselet us know. Above all, our cases are functional, high end design for your phone and are not meant to compete with the protection offered by bulky rubber and plastic cases.
Frequent questions
Our cases are 100% real, natural, solid wood and unlike other cases (which are veneers laminated to plastic, fake wood, or even worse - resin) our wood is sourced locally and sustainably. Most of our wood comes from our friends at Urban Tree. They works with Tree Pittsburgh to reclaim sick and damaged street trees and local trees. Their team of arborists safely fells, and mills trees which would otherwise end up as mulch. We also buy wood from Mar Lumber in Mars, PA, a local family run sawmill. We collect other reclaimed wood from various local sources in SW PA and beyond. Our Spalted Maple wood is made in Pittsburgh by Deepe Greene Woodworks by inoculation of mycelium into logs.
Wood grain varies and the character of the cases we ship will is only represented by the samples we have used in our photos. With that being said, we take pride in only selecting the wood with the most interesting grain and beautiful features.

Shipping Info
KerfCase ships worldwide using the United States Postal Service and FedEx where applicable. We currently offer express or expedited services which can be selected during checkout. All orders over $100 are eligible for USPS First Class for free when sent domestically and include a tracking number.
We ship domestically and internationally using First Class International Mail and FedEx. If you live in a country on Earth - there is a good chance we have shipped a case to your country :)
KerfCase offers two international shipping options: US Postal Service and FedEx. For the best experience, we recommend FedEx; the tracking is much more detailed and it is easy for us to locate and refund missing packages.
USPS is less expensive, but we have no recourse if a package goes missing and cannot offer a refund if your package is lost. Shipping cost varies based on your total cart price. For faster service and a trackable package, we recommend FedEx.

For all orders shipped outside the United States, the customer is responsible for all taxes and duties imposed by their country for imports. Since these fees vary from country to country, we cannot estimate them on our website. Please refer to your government’s importing guidelines for an estimate of what you will owe in taxes and duties, and factor that amount into your purchase budget.
** Current Shipping leadtimes are 4+ Weeks** All KerfCase products are custom made to order, and ship from Pittsburgh, PA. We offer expedited shipping services but all standard orders are mailed within 3-5 day of placing your order. Custom cases and will arrive in 1-2 weeks. As all KerfCase products are hand finished we make sure to take our time getting you the best quality available.
All KerfCase orders include delivery tracking. Be sure to check your shipping confirmation email for the appropriate tracking link. If you didn't receive it within 4-5 days from the day which you received your tracking email please let us know.
Every product is custom made to order. It's more sustainable than stocking an inventory of finished items. Once you place your order, we make your product from raw materials. This process takes between 3-7 business days.
When your case is ready to ship, it should arrive within 2-4 business days within the U.S. after your shipping confirmation email is sent (with the exception of some remote locations). Please note that it may take up to 3 weeks after your order confirmation for your shipment confirmation to be sent, since all of our items are made to order.
We offer Priority Mail Express and FedEx Express for expedited shipping. This shipping service is either next day or within 2 days, depending on your location. Please contact us for a detailed estimate.
KerfCase offers several paid shipping services. For items which are shipped with a paid shipping service, refunds will not be given for shipping costs for returned or exchanged items, unless the return is due to a manufacturing defect. Please see our policies for returns below.
KerfCase is not responsible for missing packages, and cannot offer a refund if a package is lost in transit. Customers are encouraged to contact their local post office or shipment provider and follow their lost package procedures to recover their package. Premium shipping options, such as USPS Priority Express and FedEx Express, offer insurance for missing packages, please contact us if you wish to file a claim.
Returns & Exchanges
We stand behind our product. In most cases, if you are not happy with your wood case you may return it for a full refund or exchange it for a different case. Our return period is 15 days. If more than 15 days from delivery of your order have elapsed, unfortunately we cannot offer you a refund or exchange. To be eligible for a return or exchange, you must contact us before sending the item and your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it.
We strongly recommend using the original packaging for the return, or that it is otherwise very well protected; we cannot offer a refund if the product is damaged during its return trip. KerfCase does not pay for shipping for product returns. It is up to the customer to ensure the case is shipped back to us follow our Return Shipping guidelines below.
No returns or refunds on custom products or any items in our Kerf Select collection.
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days.
If it takes longer than 30 days from delivery for us to receive your product back, a restocking fee of $25 will be charged.
Cases with obvious signs of abuse, exposure to moisture, extreme temperatures, improper installation, or impacts (such as dropping your phone) or Custom Cases of any kind.
Due to the unique nature of the wood grain in our Kerf Select collection, all sales are final and we cannot process returns for Kerf Select cases.
To return your product, you should mail your product with tracking to the below address. KerfCase is not responsible for lost returns sent without tracking. It is required for return tracking to be emailed to us at the time of shipment.

Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you may vary.
If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.
If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver and they will find out about your return.
Custom Engraving
Yes. KerfCase can use an industrial laser CNC machine to engrave custom text and images onto your case.
